Westlake Psychotherapy of Austin was founded by Robyn Trimborn as a place where therapists will be proud to work, providing all clients with healing, as well as tools and skills that they will be able to carry through their lives with them.

With an emphasis on lifelong learning, Robyn encourages her entire team to continue working towards additional certifications, exploring new modalities, gaining experience with various treatment plans, and more – all the while continuing to provide high-quality, client-focused therapy.

A typical individual session is 50 minutes. When booking an EMDR session, we encourage booking 90-minute sessions to allow for regulation work at the end. Couples sessions range from 50 minutes to two hours. Group sessions range from 50-90 minutes. EMDR intensives are six hours per day.

  • Robyn Trimborn’s fees are $200 / 50 minutes for individuals and $220 for couples.
    • The cost of an EMDR intensive is up to $1,400 / day, which includes 6 hours of therapy plus prep time.

  • Caren’s fees are $185 / 50 minutes for individuals and $200 for couples and families.
  • Mike has sliding scale fees, generally around $30-$50 / 50 minutes for individuals and couples.

We use Open Path and Headway to keep sliding scale spots open for patients who cannot afford our higher range of fees.

  • Robyn Trimborn offers superbills.
  • Tammy Duhaime accepts Aetna and Cigna insurance.

  • We do not accept insurance for couples counseling.  For couples counseling and any other insurances not listed, we offer superbills.

Appointments can be cancelled free of charge 48 hours prior. This policy is strict; patients all get one “freebie” for illness / emergency, after which we will charge the full appointment fee. This policy is in place so we can fill the spot with someone waiting to see us. Keep in mind that attendance and consistency are essential to the success of our work.

Group therapy is different. Being part of the group, there is a commitment to attending and receiving a weekly charge to maintain group membership.

The length of treatment varies case by case.

For example, EMDR can be as short as six weeks or take many months, depending on how fast the patient processes what is keeping them stuck.

There is no set answer on “how long” someone needs therapy, but we continually review goals and progress throughout our time together and discuss termination when the patient feels they are ready to end treatment.
